Weldon V-mux Hercules HC Node: Electrical System recall

NHTSA campaign 22E037000 · 860 units potentially affected · filed May 5, 2022

What's wrong

Weldon Division of Akron Brass (Akron Brass) is recalling certain V-mux Hercules HC Node 1.5 electrical multiplex modules, with part number 6060-1000-00. An additional resistor was inadvertently installed on the printed circuit board, which can disrupt CAN network communication and cause vehicle lighting to fail.

Why it matters

Inoperable vehicle lighting can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Weldon will work with vehicle manufacturers and provide replacement modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 6, 2022. Owners may contact Akron Brass customer service at 1-800-228-1161. Akron Brass number for this recall is TSB 22-001.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
