2022 Indian Chief Bobber, Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse, Indian Chief Dark Horse: Equipment recall

NHTSA campaign 23V293000 · 4 units potentially affected · filed Apr 25, 2023

What's wrong

Indian Motorcycle Company (Indian) is recalling certain 2022 Indian Chief Bobber, Indian Chief Dark Horse, and Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse motorcycles. These motorcycles may be missing a belt guard reflector. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Why it matters

A missing belt guard reflector may reduce the visibility of the motorcycle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
