Lippert Hub Oil Seal: Power Train recall
NHTSA campaign 24E021000 · 540 units potentially affected · filed Mar 5, 2024
What's wrong
Lippert is recalling certain Lippert Utility Hub Oil Seals with part number, 276712. The oil seals may have been improperly installed, which can cause oil to leak onto the brake system.
Why it matters
Oil leaking onto brake components can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Lippert will work with the vehicle manufacturers to inspect and replace the hub seals as necessary, free of charge. Vehicle manufacturers were notified March 18, 2024. Owners may contact LCI customer service at 1-574-538-4514.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
