Bendix Intellipark: Parking Brake recall

NHTSA campaign 24E034000 · 1,769 units potentially affected · filed Apr 30, 2024

What's wrong

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, LLC (Bendix) is recalling certain Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM) with part numbers, K266604R000, K189349, K273523R000 and, K273520R000. The rubber ball seal in the PVM may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving.

Why it matters

Park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the Intellipark PVM, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 27, 2024. Owners may contact Bendix customer service at 1-800-247-2725.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
