NHTSA campaign 24E060000 · 2,710 units potentially affected · filed Jul 16, 2024

What's wrong

Webasto Thermo & Comfort NA, Inc. (Webasto) has submitted a Defect Information Report based upon recall determinations made by Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (23V-518), and Lucid USA, Inc. (24V-011 and 24V-495). Webasto HV Coolant Heaters part numbers HVH100, HVH70, and HVH50, may fail to defrost the windshield.

Why it matters

A high voltage coolant heater that fails to defrost the windshield can reduce the driver's view, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Affected vehicle manufacturers will determine the appropriate remedy for their vehicles. Vehicle owners may contact their respective vehicle manufacturer's customer service phone number listed in each vehicle recall.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
