Evject Nacs Escape Connector: Electrical System recall

NHTSA campaign 24E081000 · 8,900 units potentially affected · filed Sep 27, 2024

What's wrong

EVject, Inc. (EVject) is recalling certain Escape Connector NACS v1.0 and v1.1 electric vehicle charging cable adaptors. The adapters were manufactured without internal thermal protection.

Why it matters

A connected charging cable without thermal protection can overheat, increasing the risk of a burn injury.

The fix

EVject will replace all adapters without built-in thermal protection, free of charge. Interim owner notifications explaining the safety risk were mailed December 26, 2024. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available. Owners may contact EVject customer service at info@evject.com or 1-650-308-8671.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
