Carrier Transicold Aspen Auxilary Power Unit: Equipment recall

NHTSA campaign 25E028000 · 4,661 units potentially affected · filed Apr 25, 2025

What's wrong

Carrier Corporation (Carrier) is recalling certain Aspen Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) models Aspen-INT, Aspen-STA, and Aspen-PWR. The APU positive terminal block may have corrosion, resulting in a short circuit.

Why it matters

A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will remove the terminal block permanently and repair the wires, free of charge. Owners are advised not to use the APU until the remedy is performed. Owner notification letters were mailed May 16, 2025. Owners may contact Carrier customer service at 1-800-448-1661.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.
