2025 Big Tex 14RB, Big Tex 14RD, Big Tex 16RB +more: Equipment recall

What's wrong

Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. (Big Tex Trailer) is recalling certain 14RB, 14RD, 16RB, and 16RD trailers. The winch mounting hardware may be undersized and allow the winch to detach from the winch mount.

Why it matters

A winch that detaches can result in falling cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and repair the winch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2025. Owners may contact Big Tex Trailer customer service at 1-800-594-5637.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
