Kumho Solus TA11: Tires recall

NHTSA campaign 26T009000 · 11K units potentially affected · filed Mar 4, 2026

What's wrong

Kumho Tire Co., Inc. (“KTCI”) Is recalling certain Solus TA11 tires, size 225/60R16. The tire tread may separate. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

Why it matters

Tread separation may increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

KTCI will either refund the tire purchase price or replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact KUSA's customer service at 1-800-445-8646 (Option 2).
